Respecting Planetary Boundaries
Perho Green City Farm promotes respect for planetary boundaries by advancing sustainable food production and environmental awareness. The farm applies regenerative farming methods that enhance soil health, increase carbon sequestration, and reduce the need for chemical fertilizers.
By focusing on local and seasonal production, the farm helps cut emissions across the food chain and supports biodiversity. It also serves as a hands-on learning environment where students and visitors gain practical knowledge about sustainable food systems and environmental solutions.
Through these actions, the farm contributes to several key planetary boundaries, including climate change mitigation, soil vitality, and biodiversity conservation.

What are planetary boundaries?
Planetary boundaries define a safe operating space for humanity within the limits set by Earth’s natural systems (illustrated in green in the image). Crossing these boundaries is believed to gradually increase the risk of irreversible environmental changes, while also posing growing threats to human health and well-being.
